Product Care
Proper maintenance ensures your SitSoft™ Ergonomic Seat Cushion delivers optimal pressure relief, structural integrity, and freshness for years to come. Please follow these detailed care guidelines to keep your cushion in peak condition.
Part 1: Outer Mesh Cover Care
The removable outer cover of your SitSoft™ cushion is engineered using high-durability, 3D honeycomb mesh fabric. This material maximizes airflow while protecting the internal core.
Step-by-Step Washing Instructions
-
Unzipping: Carefully locate the smooth-glide zipper on the bottom perimeter of the cushion. Unzip the cover full-length and gently peel it away from the memory foam core.
-
Pre-Treating Stains: If there are visible spots or spills, pre-treat the outer mesh using a small amount of mild liquid detergent mixed with warm water. Gently dab the area with a soft microfiber cloth.
-
Machine Washing: Place the cover inside a mesh laundry bag to prevent snagging. Machine wash on a Gentle / Delicate Cycle using cold or lukewarm water (maximum 30°C / 86°F). Use a mild detergent free from harsh bleach or fabric softeners.
-
Drying Procedures:
-
Air Drying (Recommended): Lay the cover flat or hang it to dry in a shady, well-ventilated area.
-
Tumble Drying: If using a dryer, set it strictly to Low Heat / Air Dry. High heat can melt or deform the anti-slip rubber grip dots located on the underside of the cover.
-
-
Do Not: Do not bleach, iron, or dry-clean the cover.
Part 2: Memory Foam Core Care
The internal viscoelastic memory foam core is engineered to respond dynamically to heat and pressure. Liquid exposure and extreme heat can damage foam structural integrity.
Critical Safety Guidelines
-
NEVER Wash the Foam Core: DO NOT submerge the memory foam core in water, wash it in a machine, or place it in a tumble dryer. Excess water breaks down the open-cell memory foam structure, causing it to lose elasticity and shape.
-
Spot Cleaning Only: If liquid leaks through to the foam core, immediately blot up excess liquid with a dry, clean towel. Dampen a soft cloth with cold water and mild soap, then gently wipe the affected spot. Allow the foam to air dry completely away from direct heat sources.
-
Drying the Core: Air dry the foam at room temperature in a shaded, well-ventilated room. Keep out of direct sunlight. UV rays cause raw memory foam to oxidize, discolor, and become brittle.
Part 3: Unboxing, Odor Airing & Temperature Behavior
Initial Unboxing & Airing
When your SitSoft™ cushion arrives, it comes freshly sealed from manufacturing. You may notice a slight "new foam" scent upon opening the vacuum packaging.
-
This scent is standard for high-density viscoelastic foam and is completely non-toxic and harmless.
-
Remove the cushion from its plastic packaging and let it sit in an open, well-ventilated room for 24 to 48 hours. The scent will naturally dissipate completely.
Temperature Responsiveness
High-density memory foam is thermoreactive. This means it responds directly to ambient temperatures:
-
In Cold Rooms: The cushion may feel slightly firm at first when left in cold environments (below 18°C / 65°F). This is normal. Within 2 to 3 minutes of sitting on it, your natural body heat will soften the foam, allowing it to contour perfectly to your body.
-
In Warm Rooms: The foam will feel softer and yield more quickly under weight.
Part 4: Storage & Maintenance Schedule
| Maintenance Task | Frequency | Recommended Method |
| Air Out Cover & Core | Monthly | Unzip cover, let foam core rest in a shaded, breezy room for 2–3 hours. |
| Wash Outer Mesh Cover | Every 2–4 Weeks | Machine wash on gentle cycle (cold water) inside a wash bag; air dry. |
| Spot-Clean Foam Core | As Needed | Damp cloth with mild soapy water; air dry away from heat and sunlight. |
| Long-Term Storage | Off-Season / Travel | Store flat in a breathable fabric bag in a cool, dry closet. Avoid heavy stacking. |
